The Spreads with the Classic Gumppenberg Tarot of 1835

The Fool

You can use the Shuffle Window as with the 'normal' Thoth spreads, pick your cards and display them just like before. The cards are also clickable and will link to the floating Cards Explanation Window.
As you will see, the explanations are (still) those of the Thoth deck - and while some cards might seem a wee bit strange at first when viewed through the paradigm of their Thoth equivalents, the difference is not as big as you might think.

In my use established over the years the various decks have somewhat 'melted' into one another and the essence of the cards stays the same in both decks (and others I use).

There are character treats, of course. The classic Tarots seem friendlier in the Minor Arcana, when, say, a Five of Swords just doesn't feel so harsh in its stylized traditional image. When it comes to the Trumps, however, the Thoth deck seems the much nicer one when it softens the crude notions of the past with benevolent 'new-age-candy'. The Death card can talk of 'rebirth' and 'transformation' in the Thoth deck while in a classic deck it is plain and simple death - or at least something very, very bad. Likewise the Hanged Man loses his fuzzy illumination and becomes once again the miserable traitor. And don't get me started on the Fool or the Magician..;)

So each deck has a character and a power of its own and yet they are *almost* the same.
