The Black Death 1347 (History's Turning Points, 22 min)
This video is a wee bit populistic and contains some inaccuracies. For example
the story that the Mongols threw dead bodies into the city of Caffa was never
validated - logic implies that the plague would have spread anyway. That the children's
verse at the end describes plague symptoms is a popular belief but incorrect.
That seamen wouldn't have noticed rats on the ship is almost funny when a ship
without rats would have been a sensation in those days - rats were everywhere
and they were on every ship up until modern times.
But apart from this the movie gives an idea what the Black Death had meant.
