Various artists I like

Here you can find some of my favorite music where I haven't done a complete page for the artists yet. Each introduction is provided with a small ra-file or two, just in case you didn't know the music before. These files are of very low quality but I hope they can give you an idea - and if you like a sound you can click the covers to go to amazon.com and look for an album.

Maybe the one or other of my favorites will get a new fan this way...

King Oliver and his Creole Jazzband

The essence of jazz which for me is located somewhen in the 1910s and 1920s - Joe 'King' Oliver was a true jazz king. From New Orleans to hot jazz in Chicago the great cornet player created music that up to this days has lost nothing of its magic.

Goran Bregovic

Goran Bregovic is a child of the Balkans and his music will tell. Traditional folk tunes and own compositions are merged into mesmerizing arrangements that are timeless.

Bregovic is famous for his collaborations with film maker Emir Kusturica (Time of the Gypsies). His repertoire is vast and far too much to do it justice here.

Khaled

Khaled

Khaled has a wonderful voice - I could listen to this guy for hours. Dubbed the King of Raï he must be the most popular representant of this Algerian music style.

Yat-Kha: Yenisei PunkYat-Kha

Albert Kuvezin of the Tuvinian band Yat-Kha is one outstanding singer with a voice that will send shivers down your spine - and probably ruin your bass box.... ;)

He is reported to be one of the best, if not the best, Kargyraa singers in the world.

Egschiglen is a great ensemble from Mongolia, wonderfully mixing traditional soul with a wee little modern touch and the stunning art of Mongolian throat-singing - the result is magical!
